Lifeguards Wanted for City of Glen Cove’s Summer 2019 Beach Season

Summer Job is Guaranteed Upon Completion of American Red Cross Lifeguard Training

Glen Cove, NY, January 15, 2019 … For active and athletic-minded men and women turning age 16 and over, the City of Glen Cove wants you to consider a summer job as a lifeguard.   Candidates from Glen Cove who have successfully completed an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course, the Nassau County certification tests and interviews,  will be guaranteed summer employment at the Glen Cove beaches this year and Glen Cove residents will be reimbursed for the cost of the American Red Cross course fee.

“The American Red Cross lifeguard training course ensures that all potential lifeguards will keep our beach-goers safe, while getting in good shape,” said Mayor Tim Tenke.  “Many lifeguards find their jobs an exciting and rewarding one with competitive pay and an opportunity to work outside,” added Darcy Belyea, Director of the Glen Cove Parks & Recreation Department.

During peak season, the City of Glen Cove beaches are staffed seven days a week and work schedules are flexible to meet an individual’s needs on a full-time or part-time basis.  Glen Cove beaches will open on Saturday, May 25. Interested parties may call the Glen Cove Department of Parks & Recreation at (516) 676-3766 for more information and course/certification details.
