EMS

Organized in 1985, the City of Glen Cove Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is a municipal department of the City of Glen Cove. The department functions as a New York State Dept of Health Certified Advanced Life Support agency providing around the clock emergency medical transportation and care in the city. In addition to responding to emergency calls, the department also provides community event support and onsite first aide at all City of Glen Cove events. The department operates out of a single station, EMS Headquarters, located at 8 Glen Cove Ave.

EMS has a combination of paid and volunteer members that currently staff 4 Advanced Life Support ambulances, a Mass Casualty trailer and Pick-up Truck, First Responder Truck, Utility Van, Mountain Bikes and a 6×6 All-Terrain Gator along with support vehicles. The department protects a 6.6 sq. mile district with a population of 26,964 in addition to the 12.6 sq. miles of waterways and coastline of the Long Island Sound and Hempstead Harbor.
