Filming & Photography in the City of Glen Cove
Glen Cove offers a beautiful mix of historic landmarks, waterfront parks, vibrant neighborhoods, and scenic downtown areas — making it an ideal backdrop for your next film, television, commercial, or photography project.
If you are planning to film or conduct commercial photography in the City of Glen Cove, you must obtain a permit in advance.
When is a Permit Required?
A permit is required for any commercial filming, videotaping, or photography that takes place on public property (streets, sidewalks, parks, buildings) or that may impact the surrounding community. This includes:
-
Feature films, television shows, web series, and commercials
-
Documentaries or student films using professional equipment
-
Music videos, modeling shoots, promotional videos
-
Any shoot that requires street closures, traffic control, or city personnel

No permit is required for non-commercial or personal use photography and filming, such as wedding or family photos in public parks that do not interfere with public access.
