ALERT: Raccoon Rabies Vaccine Baiting
North Region (Glen Cove)
Dates: Oct 6–10, 2025 (weather permitting)
Note: This is a Nassau County–led program.

• County crews will distribute oral rabies vaccine bait in parks, wooded areas, and along roads.
• Bait looks like small brown blocks. Do not touch or pick up the bait.
• Pet safety: Keep dogs leashed and supervised; avoid off-leash areas during this period.
• Ensure pets’ rabies vaccinations are up to date.
• If bait is on your property, leave it in place so wildlife can find it.
