The City of Glen Cove invites you to attend the first public workshop for the 2023-2024 Smart Growth Comprehensive Plan with Sustainability Elements, which will take place at City Hall, in the Main Chambers, on June 29th, 2023 from 6:30-8:00 PM.
The Comprehensive Plan is an official, long-range planning document that provides policy guidance for future land use, development, infrastructure, and services. The 2023-2024 Comprehensive Plan will incorporate Smart Growth principles and sustainability elements throughout all topic areas, proposing strategies to properly address infrastructure, resilience, transportation and parking, and housing and development issues and opportunities.
The goal of this workshop is to inform the public about the planning process, present preliminary goals, introduce examples of Smart Growth principles, and hear from the public what their vision for Glen Cove is, and what sustainability aspects are the most important to them.
There will be other opportunities to share your input during this process, including an online survey. The City/CDA encourages the public to be engaged throughout the process. The project website (www.GlenCoveComprehensivePlan.com) is regularly updated with information, events, and draft documents for public review.
