Fire Hydrant Flushing Notice

The City of Glen Cove Water Department will begin its semi-annual fire hydrant flushing starting Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

Monday – Friday
7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Duration: Approximately 4 weeks

This important maintenance helps clean mineral buildup from water mains ahead of peak usage.

Residents may notice temporary water discoloration. If this occurs:
• Run cold water for 5–10 minutes until clear
• Check water before using washing machines

Discoloration poses no health risk and will clear as work moves through your area.
