City Alert: Heat Advisory, Sanitation Schedule & Holiday Closure

Due to the extreme heat forecast, garbage and recycling pickup on Thursday and Friday will begin early at 6:00 a.m. Residents are asked to place garbage and recycling at the curb the night before or no later than 6:00 a.m. to ensure collection.

As Long Island remains under drought conditions, residents are reminded to continue following Glen Cove’s odd-even watering schedule and conserve water whenever possible. Homes on the odd side of the street should water on odd calendar days; homes on the even side should water on even calendar days. Homes without a number should follow the even schedule.

Please also note that City Hall will be closed Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day.
