Nassau County and Glen Cove Beaches closed

ALERT – Saturday, July 18

Nassau County has announced the closure of all County beaches today due to poor air quality. In accordance with the County’s directive, the City of Glen Cove’s beaches are also closed for the remainder of today.

The closure is being implemented as a precaution due to current air quality conditions.

We appreciate your understanding and will provide updates as they become available.

Emergency Alert 09-25-2026: BEACH CLOSURE ALERT Due to the impending storm, all City of Glen Cove beaches will close today, Friday, September 25, beginning at 5:00 PM. The beaches will remain closed on Saturday and are expected to reopen on Sunday once the storm has passed and conditions are safe. Please use caution and avoid beach areas during the storm.
